The transport journey: life on the long and winding road after your PhD

So, you have a PhD on a transport related topic? What now? This presentation explores the rich landscape of career paths available to transport PhD holders, examining why and where the industry desperately needs your specialised knowledge and analytical skills. Drawing on over twenty years in the transport sector and a PhD in transport Roselle will provide insights into translating academic expertise into professional impact. She’ll discuss how to identify where your research passion intersects with industry needs, navigate the transition from academic to applied work, and building a career that leverages both your love of transport and your potential to drive real-world change. Whether you’re considering academia, consultancy, government policy, or industry roles, this session will help you chart your course from dissertation defence to professional fulfilment in the dynamic world of transport.
